„Chant sweet melodies, utter hymns, and sing praise to his name“: Matisyahu<\/a> wird momentan als eine Art kurioser Novelty-Act durch die Feuilletons gereicht, was aber Quatsch ist: Warum soll ein j\u00fcdisch-orthodoxer Reggae-S\u00e4nger obskurer oder seltsamer sein als streng gl\u00e4ubige Rastafaris oder islamische Rapper? Oder Madonna?<\/p>\n

The Psalter has all the deep tunes: Die Seele des Alten Testaments ist immer noch Inspiration genug f\u00fcr Textzeilen wie „Heavens lay draped over New York like a prayer shawl“. Was ich erstaunlich finde, ist, wieviel Eleganz und Vitalit\u00e4t noch im Reggae-Idiom sitzen. „King Without A Crown“ und „Refuge“ sind gro\u00dfe Popsongs, egal, ob man mit Dreadlocks oder Kippah auf dem Kopf zuh\u00f6rt.<\/p>\n

Findet auch sein Manager: „Matisyahu w\u00e4re ein Erfolg, auch wenn er nicht religi\u00f6s w\u00e4re.“ Aber dann w\u00e4re er vielleicht nur ein guter S\u00e4nger: Energie haben viele, Seele nur wenige. Im Ha’aretz<\/a> kann man lesen, dass jemand wie Matisyahu manche Situationen anders l\u00f6sen muss als, sagen wir, Robbie Williams:<\/p>\n
