Anfang der 80er waren die regelm\u00e4\u00dfig in den britischen Indie-Charts, und auch John Peel mochte sie ganz gerne: Angeblich haben nur <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thefall.info\/\">The Fall<\/a> mehr <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/John_Peel\">Peel Sessions<\/a> aufgenommen als die Nightingales.<\/p>\n<p>Das steht zumindest in der <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Nightingales\">Wikipedia<\/a>. Am Eintrag dort hat wohl jemand mitgeschrieben, der der Band, na, sagen wir,  mindestens geistig nahesteht, denn die Bandmitglieder werden dort so beschrieben:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Trivia<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Alan Apperley is often described as the &#8218;overtly and often innappropriately sensual&#8216; genius behind The Sounds of Robert Lloyd, the &#8218;Telford Elvis&#8216;.<\/p>\n<p>Teen Guitar Sensation Matt Wood of The Nightingales has been rated &#8218;five out of five&#8216; in the national press, on at least one occasion. His hobbies include eschewing hair gel and text messaging, and devoting his school years to learning the interlocking guitar stylings of Captain Beefheart&#8217;s Magic Band.<\/p>\n<p>Ste Lowe has been a feature of several articles, which denote him as having &#8217;something of the night about him&#8216; and being &#8218;the fella I get the bus to work with&#8216;.<\/p>\n<p>Daren Garratt&#8217;s hobbies include Guinness, laughing, James Brown, Little Richard, and Shouting. These can often be observed in the previous order. He also conducts a clandestine life as the Other Mark E. Smith (OMES) and has made at least three Fall CDs in this guise, without the public suspecting anything.<\/p>\n<p>Robert Lloyd has been described as THE Robert Lloyd.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Das ist aber sicher alles nachpr\u00fcfbar und richtig. Man kann die Nightingales ja auch nicht besser beschreiben als DIE Nightingales.<\/p>\n<p><font size=1>Und darum ist es sch\u00f6n, dass die Band schon seit 2004 wieder aktiv ist und letztes Jahr ein neues Album ver\u00f6ffentlicht hat (das auch schon <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Out_of_True\">einen eigenen Wikipedia-Eintrag<\/a> hat und auf dem auch Gina Birch von den <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theraincoats.net\/\">Raincoats<\/a> mal wieder zu h\u00f6ren ist).<\/font><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Das hier ist vermutlich nur lustig f\u00fcr die sch\u00e4tzungsweise zwei Dutzend Menschen, die sich noch an die Nightingales erinnern k\u00f6nnen.
